Honesty and JudgementDo you feel comfortable with the lawyer? Do you trust him/her? Do you feel like you can communicate with him/her, even about personal and confidential issues? Do you have confidence in his/her judgment?
Has the lawyer “guaranteed” you an outcome? (Hint: if so, leave.) |

CostHow much is the lawyer going to charge if he/she takes the case, and how long does he or she think it will take? Always get a written fee contract and make sure you understand it before you sign. Don’t hesitate to ask questions after you sign. While it is something that should not be done lightly, you can change lawyers if you think it is necessary.
