Unfortunately, neither government regulation, nor the private marketplace can prevent all defective and unsafe products from entering the flow of commerce in our country.

Crowley & Prill have over thirty years of experience successfully representing people in cases where someone was injured or killed by a defective product.

Products liability refers to a special area of civil law that protects people from preventable personal injury and harm caused by products that fail and injure because a) the product is defectively designed for the purpose intended, or, b) the product is defective due to some problem in the manufacturing process. Although rare, occasionally a product can be defective for both reasons. (Design and manufacture.) The injured person must prove in court that the product was defective and unreasonably dangerous, and that the defect caused the injury or death.

Examples of automobile products that our firm has investigated and pursued on behalf of inured people and their loved ones include cars and trucks with defective handling (rollover stability) , control switches, seatbelts, airbags, tires, and child car seats. We have handled cases concerning such diverse, non-automotive products as industrial or agricultural augers, industrial machine controls, recreational vehicles, child furniture, gas appliances, and electric heaters.

Today’s globalization of commerce means that American consumers have more products to choose from than ever before. Many of those products, or their component parts, come from sources outside the United States. When a defective product designed and manufactured in another country injures or kills someone in the United States, lawyers for the injured face additional challenges to identify the responsible company, choose the best forum to file the case, and hold them accountable for the harm they have caused. Our law firm has successfully handled dozens of cases involving injuries caused by defective, foreign-manufactured goods.

Product liability involves the intersection of law, technology and consumers. Accordingly, lawyers who investigate and handle product claims need specialized experience, manpower, and the technical resources to help their clients prevail. Our law firm has the decades of experience necessary to investigate, evaluate and pursue claims caused by defective, unsafe products.
